With a kind and grounded approach, Ryan integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma Informed Care with EMDR into his sessions to help clients navigate stress, improve relationships, and build healthier thought patterns.

In addition to his work in counseling, Ryan also serves in the junior high school setting, where his calm presence and care make a lasting impact on young minds. Whether working with teens, adults, or couples, Ryan is passionate about creating a supportive space where real change can happen—step by step, with practical tools and compassionate guidance.

 Dr. Kristi Hughes is a powerhouse of faith, fire, and fierce love. As Refocus Counseling Ministry’s Alaska State Supervisor and Executive Director, she leads with unmatched energy, deep compassion, and a Christ like passion for healing families and transforming lives.

Dr. Kristi is the heart behind so much of what Refocus is today—balancing leadership, supervision, and spiritual wisdom with joy, laughter, and just the right amount of sass. She has a deep love for Jesus, a bold commitment to truth, and a supernatural ability to get more done in one day than most of us do in a week (seriously—blink and you’ll miss her!).
